There are many resources in the Bay area. However, I will focus on a few local retreat centers, and then some places to practice here in Santa Cruz. Feel free to drop in to any of the local meditation meetings at Vipassana Santa Cruz or Everyday Dharam, and you can visit the Zen Center on Wednesday when they have an introduction to their practice.

Each Wednesday at 7 P.M.
Sitting meditation begins at 7:00 PM and is 40 minutes long. Carolyn Atkinson, our Head Teacher, then gives a Dharma Talk, which usually lasts half an hour.
Then there is a discussion of the Dharma Talk, followed by announcements.
After chanting the Bodhisattva Vows or doing a brief practice in Metta meditation, we bow out. We then gather outside for tea and conversation.
